Equine Science Center Research Updates
Horse and Human Responses to Equine-Assisted Activities (EAA) for Veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

The Equine Science Center Research Updates provide constituents with a quick, accessible 4-page research brief on the work being conducted at the Equine Science Center. These include pictures related to the topic, and often include pictures taken during research.

I designed the template for this type of publication not only to inform our audience but also to engage them with up-close imagery of the research, making them feel as if they are there with our researchers. The text for this type of publication is provided by the researcher, and then I work with them to bring it to a more layperson’s level, making the information accessible to a wide variety of constituents. In the example above, all photography and editing were done by me.
Equine Science Center Newsletter
Summer & Fall 2024 Equine Science Quarterly

The Equine Science Quarterly provides information in a newsletter-style format. Re-designed in winter 2015 (a few short months after I was hired by the Equine Science Center), it includes upcoming events, event recaps, human-interest pieces, research updates via the “From The Lab” section, and provides a space to showcase all of this through storytelling and photography. I handle all layout/design, reporting, photography, and photo editing. Guest articles, such as the “From The Lab” section, are written by researchers and graduate and undergraduate students, and then edited and laid out by me. I also manage student photographers when we have students with that interest. The work below is mine, with the exception of photography for the “2024 Ag Field Day At Rutgers Day” story, which was done by a student photographer.
